Can it really be the middle of February? It seems like just yesterday I was preparing for Christmas and here we are two months into the new year. This feeling, this mentality has been plaguing me for quiet some time now. “Can that much time really have passed?” I seem to wake up everyday with these words on the tip of my tongue. It seems to me that God led me in the direction of the Girls of Faith ministry and I’ve somehow fumbled the ball. I wanted to be close to fully funded by now, but it seems that I’ve gotten in my own way. Hence the Moses reference, my mouth and heart said “yes” when God led me to start support raising but so far my actions have been a little wanting. While Moses’ mouth said no God still called him to go and do. I want to get hung up on the time wasted. I want to worry about the ball thats been fumbled, but what good would it be if I just sat looking at the dropped ball at the ground wringing my hands crying out to God, “Why Lord? Why did you pick me? Can’t you see I haven’t got the skills for this?” Instead, like any good football player will tell you, you have to jump on the dropped ball, pick it up and keep running towards the endzone. I have spent far to much time saying, “Lord, look at me I’m a mess. I can’t do this.” Yet, what I’m sure He is calling me to do right now, is pick up the ball, forget the messed up play and move ahead. If I truly believe He has guided me in this direction can I really be to big to get in His way? I don’t think so.

I just re-read my first blog from September. I can’t believe it has been over a month since I wrote it! Since then I have been going through the preliminary steps of support raising. I have had to create a database of names and phone numbers, create a 20 page presentation, write out scripts for what to say when I’m on the phone and what to say when I’m in person!!! It seems like its taken forever!!! However, God definitely knew what path I should go down to do my support raising and with all of this preperation I feel very ready with minimal anxiety! Which is Great!

I began making my first phone calls today. I was a bit nervous but I’ve been praying all along and asking people to pray for me so I was very at peace as I began . I have had quiet a bit of sucess with the phone calls I had planned on making so I thank God for that!

As I begin making more phone calls and meeting people face to face my prayers will be that God would give me courage and strength. I am also praying that God would speak through me and allow people to see His heart for young girls and their need for truth. Thanks for your support!

Just a few short weeks ago I made one of the biggest decisions of my life. I was working full time in a salaried position…when I decided to quit in order to work at a part-time minimum wage daycare position! You are probably saying “Why in the world would you do that? You must be crazy!” and to that I would answer “Haha, Yeah I probably am!”

You see since high school I’ve felt called to full time ministy. During my freshman year of college God helped me to hone in on what my passions were specifically and shortly after I began volunteering my time to work on a program called Girls of Faith. I’d come up with the idea while sitting alone in my dorm room begging God to use me. Now 5 years later I’m seeing all of my dreams and work come to fruition. I know many people who are currently asking God to give them direction on what to do with their lives. I feel so lucky that this is not a question I have asked. Instead I have been praying for patience and guidance until the day that I could fulfill my dreams. That’s why a few short weeks ago I quit my full time job. I’m finally getting to do what God has created me to do! I’m so excited I can’t wait to see the ways God works in this.

My hope for this blog is that you will be able to follow God’s work and faithfulness. I have to raise personal support so that I can work full time for the Girls Ministries of FGBC. I need your prayers and support as I spend my time working to raise my salary and ministry expenses. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the ride!
